Wearing Lenses Longer
Prolonged wearing of contact lenses is not advisable. According to experts, wearing contact lenses for 12 to 14 hours a day will not harm you if you leave your eyes free once in a week. Extended wearing of contact lenses could lead to the eyes being exhausted of sufficient oxygen supply and in the long run, this can result in loss of cornea transparency. And if you stretch your lens wearing period to the night as well, you are in for "microbial keratitis", a very serious form of eye infection, which could lead to even blindness.
